C’est la Britannique Rhona Callander (Great Britain National Team) qui remporte la 2 étape de la Ras Na mBan , elle devance la Luxembourgeoise Anne Sophie Harsch (Andy Schleck Cycles Women Project) et la Suissesse Désirée Ehrle (Momentum CCN).Marine Quiniou est 7 ème de l'étape et 4ème au général.

La deuxième étape s'est déroulée sous un véritable temps Irlandais, pas inconnu de nos bretonnes tant l'atmosphère fût similaire à la Bretagne, son voisin celte.

Au programme, 2 boucles autour de Castlecomer, avec un départ du Discovery park. Pas d'accrobranche mais un peu d'escalade au programme avec le premier grimpeur monté à vive allure.

Les 6km à 3% ne permirent pas de faire de différence conséquente et Coralie, qui devait emmener Noémie, se retrouva bien placée à l'approche du sommet et se classa 3ème.

La première boucle terminée, le peloton allait s'engouffrer dans la deuxième partie de course et son épaisse brume rappelant la mousse blanche de la cervoise locale. Un enchaînement de difficultés ne laissa aucune chance aux participantes les moins fortes et c'est un peloton encore conséquent de 60 filles qui bascula au sommet du dernier grimpeur à 15km de la ligne d'arrivée.

Un QOH qui permit à Coralie de passer au sommet en 3ème position à nouveau, se replaçant à la 5ème place du classement grimpeur. C'est sans Cécilia et Maryanne, un peu en difficulté dans les forts pourcentages que la course prit un tournant dans la descente qui suivit, alors que la visibilité ne dépassait pas 20m. Une première glissage entraîna une cascade de chutes heureusement sans trop de gravité qui allégea le peloton de quelques éléments.

Les derniers tours de roue emmenèrent le peloton vers le final sur une route légèrement descendante avec à 200m de la ligne un virage en devers sur un pont glissant. Un véritable train multicolore dévala la dernière partie descendante à toute allure et les mieux placées au virage signaient à coup sûr un podium. A ce petit jeu, Marine réussit à virer en 7ème position et garda sa place jusqu'à la ligne.

Cette place lui permet de passer à la 4ème place au classement général à la veille de l'étape reine de ce Tour avec la fameuse arrivée au sommet du Mont Leinster après 107km de course. Le classement général sera bouleversé et sera couronnée la plus grimpeuse de ce peloton international.
